Anthony Grant....

...on campus at Alabama. Everything I'm hearing says this is going to probably happen. If we are waiting on someone (please be Mike Anderson and not Jeff Capel) to finish playing in the tourney, we sure as hell better get him. If we lose Grant because we waited on someone to turn us down, I'll be sick.

Tucker High LB James Vaughters

Watching this I kept thinking of Boss Bailey. Vaughters is a sophomore LB at Tucker High School. He's been offered already by Georgia. Tucker has been very good to Georgia over the years, so lets hope this trend holds and we get this kid. It should be noted that he is also a 4.0 student.

#2 Georgia moves to 12-0

Led by junior first baseman Rich Poythress, #2 ranked Georgia has moved to 12-0 to start the season. After yesterday's Grand Slam, Poythress went 4-4 in today's 7-2 win over Quinnipiac. Juco transfer RHP Jeff Walters looked really good in relief today, as did freshman Michael Palazzone.

With LSU losing 2 of 3 to Illinois this weekend, the Dawgs are poised to jump into the #1 ranking in some of the polls. I welcome the ranking. Who cares how young we are, the top ranking will continue to solidify what David Perno has built in Athens.

#2 Georgia wins 19-6

#2 Georgia is now 11-0 to start the season. This is the best lineup I've ever seen in Athens. Freshman Johnathan Taylor is going to have a chance to lead the country in runs scored and stolen bases (11 sb in 11 games). Freshman Zach Cone can flat out hit and he can't even break into the starting lineup (yet). He went 2-2 with a HR as a defensive replacement late in the game. The highlight of the game was this Poythress Grand Slam in the 8th:

Baseball Video: Arizona Roadtrip

Behind the scenes video from the Dawg's trip out west to Arizona in Baseball:

Freshman Johnathan Taylor is worth ever penny you pay to get into Foley and see him. The most electrifying player in Georgia history since Billy Henderson or Nolen Richardson (yeah we're going back a while). I remember hearing Perno on 960 am a few weeks ago saying he'll walk Taylor over to Butts-Mehre and challenge any football player in a race.

Georgia averaged 16 hits and 11 runs per game in the 3 game road sweep. Here is what Arizona coach Andy Lopez had to say about Perno's team.

Here's a good write-up on the Sweep of Arizona from Bubba 'N Earl. Not to mention, my favorite picture of Uga VII at the top of their blog.
