Countdown to UGA-OSU: 8 Days (#8 A.J. Green)

#8 A.J. Green, FLK
6-4, 210, Summerville SC (Summerville HS), Soph.

Green had perhaps the most impressive freshman season of any WR ever to play at UGA, catching 56 balls, 8 of them for touchdowns, and almost going for 1000 yards (963.) He broke on the national scene in prime-time at Arizona State, catching 8 passes for 159 yards and a touchdown. Following that was a series of solid performances (including game-winning TD catches at Kentucky and Auburn toward the end of the year.) There isn't much that one could say about Green that would adequately describe his talent. He truly has everything you'd want in a receiver - size, speed, athleticism. He'll continue to put weight and muscle on his 6-4 frame, and odds are that he won't be spending all 4 of his college-eligible years in Athens. Enjoy him while you can.

Depth Chart Analysis: It is easy to forget that he was hobbled by a hamstring prior to last season, which he didn't shake loose of for the entire season. He's 100% healthy now and will be the go-to WR for this UGA offense. Its hard for me to imagine that there's one out there who's better.) He and Joe Cox seem to be on the same page from all the practice reports I've read, so no reason to believe he won't pick up right where he left off last year. He's set to make a run at an All-American caliber season.

Other famous #8s in UGA history: QB Buck Belue, S Tony Flack, WR Terrence Edwards, DB Paul Oliver
