Countdown to UGA-OSU: 19 Days (#19 Sanders Commings)

#19 Sanders Commings, DB
6-2, 215, Westside HS (Augusta GA), RS Freshman

Commings was a heck of an athlete for the Westside Patriots in high school, playing defensive back, running back and wide receiver at times, as well as being one of the top baseball players in the CSRA. He actually saw time in 3 games in 2008, but apparently did not play enough to burn a redshirt. He practiced mostly at cornerback as a freshman, but has since been moved to free safety. Commings has great size for a defensive back, but is extremely athletic and has retained quite a bit of speed since arriving at UGA.

Depth Chart Analysis: Commings was essentially filling a void at corner last year, and the coaching staff has been pegging him as a free safety all along. To be honest, I like him better at cornerback, as my personal belief is that UGA's cornerbacks have been too short for the last few seasons. But what the hell do I know. I do know he's a load at 215 pounds, and will certainly contribute this year regardless of whether he plays corner or safety.

Other famous #19s in UGA history: CB Scott Woerner, ROV John Little, QB/RB/WR Hines Ward, RB/DE Charles Grant
