Countdown to UGA-OSU: 18 Days (#18 Bacarri Rambo)

#18 Bacarri Rambo, SS
6-0, 210, Donalsonville GA (Seminole County HS), RS Freshman

Despite settling in as a defensive player during his redshirt season, Rambo did some work as an option quarterback on the scout team dring UGA's preparation for Georgia Tech in 2008. This past spring saw him shoot up the depth chart at safety, culminating with a team-leading 5 tackles in the G-Day game. He's a big hitter and a terrific athlete that will have his day for the UGA defense before he leaves Athens.

Depth Chart Analysis: Back to the quarterback discussion, Mark Richt made a comment last year that in a pinch, he could put Rambo at QB and feel very good about it. That won't happen, but it speaks to his athleticism. He's a very valuable defender that will begin the year as Reshad Jones' backup at strong safety. However, due to injuries this month, he's been working out a good bit with the #1 defense. Rambo will be an important cog this year, as UGA's depth should be a big factor in its success.

Other famous #18s in UGA history: QB John Rauch, QB Wayne Johnson, WR/PR Damien Gary
