Countdown to UGA-OSU: 13 Days (#13 Drew Butler)

#13 Drew Butler, P
6-2. 205, Duluth GA (Peachtree Ridge HS), RS Soph.

Burler is the son of legendary former UGA kicker Kevin Butler. While many may have thought that UGA was giving him preferential treatment due to his bloodlines (which would have been justified in my opinion), the fact is that Butler got overtures from other top programs before ultimately signing with the Dawgs. Mark Richt obviously thought enough of him then to extend a scholarship, despite reports that the UGA coaches tried to convince him to take an academic scholarship, and walk-on the team. Butler has a strong leg and has proven himself to be a capable punter. He's also the only punter on the roster with any experience.

Depth Chart Analysis: It looks like Butler has sewn up the starting punter job heading into Stillwater. The punting job has not been an aspect of this year's team that is talked about much, but it could be a season-breaker. The way many expect the UGA offense to operate may lend itself to winning the field position battle over anything else. Butler needs to do a solid job.

Other famous #13s in UGA history: DB Jake Scott
