Countdown to UGA-OSU: 37 Days (#37 Akeem Hebron)

#37 Akeem Hebron, LB
6-1, 225, Gaithersburg MD (Good Counsel HS, via Georgia Military College), RS Junior

Hebron has had quite a whirlwind college career so far. He came to UGA as one of the more highly recruited players of the 2006 class, a USA Today and Parade 1st team All American. He redshirted in his first season, and then was dismissed from the program for the 2007 season following multiple alcohol-related arrests. He spent the year at GMC (reportedly with Richt's help), and was allowed back on the team in 2008. He appeared in the first 6 games of the 2008 season, before dislocating his ankle against LSU and missing the rest of the year, as well as this past spring. The injury has hampered any progress that he's made since returning to the program.

Depth Chart Analysis: Hebron has a few people to get past before he can get near the top of the depth chart. He's currently working at Will Linebacker, behind Rennie Curran (starter) and Christian Robinson. If he's completely healthy, he should be able to see some time on special teams while he works his way back into the rotation on defense. He's another in a stable of big and athletic linebackers that the Dawgs have at their disposal.

Other famous #37s in UGA history: RB Doug McFalls
