We used to have to tape the ball up to cut down on movement otherwise nobody could touch it. You still had nasty stuff and the ball traveled a little more normal when the batter did make contact.

JJ, I'm a whiffle ball purist. Just the official whiffle balls and official yellow bat. No taping of the balls or using pine tar resins on the bat. No designated hitter. No gloves. No intentional walks. No steroids.

To your point, the pitcher usually wins, but hey, at least we don't have to run around the bases with full beers in our hands quite as much.

I love hitting those wiffle balls! I used to play as a kid and now I can't get enough -- I still play all the time. Hey...batter batter batter batter SWING!!!!!
