Countdown to UGA-GSU: 23 Days

#23, Prince Miller, CB
5-8, 190, Duncan, SC (Byrnes), Jr.
Miller's Byrnes teams lost 2 games in his 4 years in high school(58-2). He won 4 straight State Championships during his time at Byrnes. He was team MVP his junior and senior years. Was South Carolina Mr. Football in 2005. Miller was a 4 star athlete who chose Georgia over the likes of Clemson, USC, Tennessee and FSU. As a true freshman in '06, Miller played in every game and was named special teams newcomer of the year. He blocked the punt versus UAB that CJ Byrd returned for a TD. Last year he appeared in every game and started 8 of them. He got his first career INT against Hawaii in the Sugar Bowl to go along with his 7 pass breakups in '07. Here is a Q&A that Miller did with the AJC's Chip Towers last month.
Depth Chart Analysis: Miller entered fall practice as a starting cornerback opposite Asher Allen. He is an exceptional special teams player as well and will be used as a weapon by Coach Fabris in that capacity too. Miller did sprain his shoulder Monday and will miss some of preseason camp. SKB posted reported on his shoulder injury here. Expect him to hold down the starting spot even though he has very good talent competing for his position (Bryan Evans/Vance Cuff). Will be a key leader on the defense the next two seasons.

Prince reminds me alot of Bruce Thornton in his first couple of years. He gets beaten at times, but he also shows you flashes that tell you he's going to be solid by the time he's a senior. I think we start to see some of that this year.
