Countdown to UGA-GSU: 31 Days

#31 Quintin Banks, S
6-2, 210, Warner Robins GA (Houston County), RSo.

Quintin was redshirted his first year on campus after coming to Georgia from high school football hotbed Warner Robins where he starred at Houston County. The former 4 star recruit chose the Dawgs over Tennessee, Auburn and Illinois. During his redshirt freshman year of 2007, Banks played in 12 games and accumulated 6 tackles. Banks won the Coffee County Hustle Award at the conclusion of this past spring practice. It is saying something when you have a reputation as a hard hitter on campus in Athens by your teammates. It should also be pointed out that Banks is a hard worker in the classroom too.
Depth Chart Analysis: Banks enters the fall as the backup SS behind senior CJ Byrd. He should get plenty of snaps in the rotation at safety and will also play a key roll in special teams. Banks will leave Athens one day as another big hitting, run support safety that Georgia fans have become accustomed to during the CMR tenure. He is a highly motivated, intellegent player who should develop into an All SEC performer before his time in Athens is up.
