Countdown to UGA-GSU: 81 Days

Note: With NaDerris Ward leaving school, #81 opened up and Aron White snatched it. Thus, we'll profile our 2nd walk-on of the week today.

Marquise Brown, SE (actually wears #9)
5-11, 175, Lanham MD (Episcopal HS, with a brief stop at the University of South Carolina), Soph.

Brown, who is the son of former Washington Redskin wide receiver and 2-time NFL pro bowler Charlie Brown, spent his true freshman season as a walk-on in Columbia. Last season, he was forced to sit out a year under NCAA rules and made some waves on the scout team. Marquise had a nice senior season at Episcopal HS in Maryland, catching 26 passes for 419 yards and 5 touchdowns. (He also played a little QB while he at Episcopal.)
Depth Chart Analysis: As has been documented many times here and elsewhere, WR is one of UGA's deepest positions, and a tough one for any walk-on to crack the rotation. Of course, there is always special teams, and the bloodlines certainly lend themselves to the possibility of Brown being good enough to find his way out there. Honestly, without seeing him play, I couldn't tell you. But we know he was good enough to walk-on in Columbia, and then in Athens, so who knows. Maybe not this season, but if Brown sticks around at UGA, he could see some playing time in Sanford.
