Countdown to UGA-GSU: 65 Days

#65 Jeff Henson, SN
6-3, 258, Gainesville GA (West Hall HS), Sr.
Henson's is an interesting story. After 4 years of football at West Hall, he worked for a year in Real Estate, then spent a year at Gainesville State University, where there is no football team. In 2006, he joined the Dawgs and walked-on the team in August, and quickly became the team's primary long snapper for every game that season. In 2007, after receiving the Mike Castronis Football Scholarship, he appeared in the first 12 games of the season. The first 4 of those were as long snapper for all Special Teams disciplines, the rest as long snapper for punts only. He did serve a 1-game suspension for a mild legal fracas that caused him to miss the Sugar Bowl.
Depth Chart Analysis: We don't read much about the depth at long snapper going into the season, so it is hard to tell if he will just handle punts, or if he'll go back to extra points and field goals as well. He is suspension free now, so we know that he'll be involved and back on the field somehow.
