Countdown to UGA-GSU: 63 Days

#63 Chris Davis, C/OG
6-4, 292, Jefferson GA (Jefferson HS), RS Soph.
An early commitment in the 2005 class, Davis was widely considered a lock to UGA, which kept other potentially interest schools at bay. That, and the fact that as a high school senior, he only weighed 245 lbs. After a redshirt in his first season in Athens, Davis was ready to play, and that he did in starting all 13 games in 2007 at left guard. Scout.com named him a Freshman All-American Honorable Mention.
Depth Chart Analysis: Davis was moved to center in the spring, and enters fall practice as the firm starter there. Many think that he'll be pushed hard by incoming true freshman Ben Jones, which could make Davis primarily a guard again. Chances are though, he'll hang at center. He played a little bit there last season, so he has experience. This is a solid player that will only continue to get better over the next 3 years.

He's underrated as an athlete. Very good baseball player coming out of high school.
